This book is 4” x 6”, and has 100 pages of the handmade cotton paper, which is great with any type of pen or with watercolor paints. The paper is also acid-free and ideal for mounting photos and memorabilia.
This book has an antique icebox hinge closure, which makes it very unique. I cut a sliver out of the hinge to turn it into a hasp/clasp. These hinges date back to the late 1800’s to early 1900’s when iceboxes were quite common. The padlocks that I use are antiques from India (American padlocks of the same era have a much more industrial look…India made them with a bit more flair) , and all of them come with a beautiful key attached. These are actual working locks, and yet I recommend that you treat them more as decoration because of their age.
